What this treatment is like
Cupping is a traditional therapy in which smooth cups are placed on the skin to create gentle suction. In a cupping massage session, the cups are combined with hands-on massage, moving across the back and shoulders to lift tissue rather than only press it.
Many clients book cupping for areas that feel congested or tightly bound, especially across the upper back, shoulders and shoulder blades. The pulling sensation is different from massage pressure: a strange but pleasant stretch that many people describe as relief they cannot get any other way.
Cupping typically leaves circular marks on the skin. These are not bruises from injury but a normal response that fades over several days to two weeks. If you would rather avoid marks, tell Darani and the session can use lighter cups or shorter placement, or skip cups entirely.
Frequently asked questions
Do the cupping marks hurt?
No. The marks look dramatic but are usually painless. They are not the same as bruise pain and fade on their own within a few days to around two weeks.
Does cupping hurt while it happens?
The suction feels like a strong pinch or pull at first, then settles into a stretching feeling. Cups can be adjusted at any moment. Most people find it deeply relaxing.
Can I choose massage without cups?
Yes. Cups are one option within your session, and every treatment can be given as a straightforward massage if you prefer no marks.
